Community Service

As part of Lock and Chain's commitment to the Washington University community, we traditionally participate in other campus-wide student events in addition to those that we plan and organize ourselves. This year, Lock and Chain 106 is partnering with Student Union and numerous other student organizations on campus to put on what could be the best George Washington Week ever. We have also teamed up with the College of Arts and Sciences to plan, organize, and execute the Major/Minor.

Lock and Chain, being a community service organization, is also deeply involved in volunteer work in the greater St. Louis area. Individually, we volunteer at the KIP Charter School, the St. Louis Juvenile Detention Center, tutor with Each One Teach One, and many more. There isn't enough space here to mention everyone's involvement. As a group, we will be volunteering regularly at the International Institute of St. Louis working with refugees from other countries, and organizing additional large-scale service activities designed to get WashU students more involved and more knowledgeable of what is going on in the St. Louis community.

Most members of Lock and Chain are heavily involved in other campus activities, but as an organization, we are looking to increase our presence on campus by participating in more student events as a team. If your student group will be hosting an event in the near future, please invite us to attend.
