Members-Only Events

Every member of Lock and Chain can testify that one of the best parts of being in the organization is working with the people: the Lock and Chain family. We pride ourselves on the relationships we build and the time we spend together. Lock and Chain is a lot of work and a big time commitment, but it is an incredibly worthwhile experience that we will carry throughout our college careers and beyond. It is more than fun; it is knowing that there are fourteen other people that care about your life, will be there for anything, and have that special way of making you feel better, regardless of the situation.

So how do we foster this environment? It begins even prior to announcing the new class, and it continues to build each day after. We welcome the new class with reunion, congratulate the graduating class with senior send-off, foster relationships within the classes with retreat, and add in a few extras here and there, just for fun.

In addition to all the events we hold specifically for members only, it is not surprising to see Lock and Chain alumni at every other event that the active class plans. Partially for moral support and partially because Lock and Chain is such a huge part of our sophomore year, it is impossible to give it up afterwards. The alumni 'stop by' the book sale, sophomore sizzle, major/minor fair, and information sessions without fail each year.

This page really did not do the best part of Lock and Chain justice, and it really is impossible to explain why it is so important. We encourage you, even if only for curiosity, to Apply to Lock and Chain and find out for yourself.
